Transcend announced the new MTE250S series of NVMe SSDs. The series has drives with a capacity of 1 TB and 2 TB. Both versions provide an 8-channel NVMe 1.4 controller and a PCIe 4.0 interface. The 1TB model has up to 7200MB/s sequential read and 6200MB/s write, random read performance up to 530K IOPS, and write performance up to 420K IOPS. The resource of the drive is 780 TB of overwritten information.
For a 2 TB model, sequential read speeds will reach up to 7100 MB / s, and writes up to 6500 MB / s. Random read and write performance is the same as the 1TB model, with a runtime of 1560TB of overwritten information.
Both versions of the drive have a built-in Low-Density Parity Check ECC error checking algorithm. They come with a 5-year manufacturer’s warranty and free SSD Scope software for monitoring drive health. However, the manufacturer has not yet announced the price.
