Developer EXOR Studios has announced the release date for The Riftbreaker, the base survival game expansion. Metal Terror will release on July 18, 2022 and will allow players to explore a brand new area of Galatea 37 – Metallic Valley. It is worth recalling that for the first time the add-on was presented in mid-May and with a release date at the end of May, but they decided to postpone the release until July.
The developers explained the transfer by the scale of the project and the technical problems that arose. Most of them the studio probably would have managed to solve before launch, but chose not to risk it.
We are very grateful for your patience and the extra time you have given us since the original date we planned earlier. We used this time to improve the expansion by adding a lot of features that would otherwise have had to be cut. Huge thanks to everyone who played the game on the experimental branch. Thanks to your feedback and bug reports, we were able to fix a lot of potential issues.
This previously unexplored biome holds many secrets. You will encounter species of creatures unlike anything you have seen before. You will gather information about the strange ways in which local flora adapt to the conditions of this biome. You will explore anomalous objects that can open the door to powerful technological advances. However, some of the things you find there can send shivers down your spine.
The World Expansion Update consists of two components: a huge free content update and a story paid DLC – The Riftbreaker: Metal Terror
The story of this expansion is integrated with the main campaign from the base edition of The Riftbreaker. A new branch and expansion content will be unlocked as you progress through the game. If you’ve already completed The Riftbreaker’s story campaign, you can pick up where you left off on your adventure. An additional part of the story is unlocked immediately, giving you the opportunity to explore a new part of the world.
