The hugely popular daily word puzzle is being transformed into a physical board game, according to a New York Times press release Thursday.
Wordle: The Party Game, billed as “an all-new product that delivers the classic Wordle gameplay but now in a whole new way,” is the result of a new partnership between Hasbro and the Times, which acquired Wordle from its creator in January.

Ever since the Wordle burst onto the scene, it has undoubtedly become a staple of the social and pop cultural lexicon. We are thrilled to be working with New York Times Games to bring our game worlds together and expand Wordle in new ways.
Adam Beal, senior vice president and general manager of Hasbro Gaming, said in a statement.
Unlike the original Wordle, a single-player puzzle game hosted on the New York Times website, Wordle: The Party Game is for two to four people ages 14 and up. Players take turns as the Wordle Master, who writes a five-letter secret word on the Wordle board, which everyone else tries to guess in six or fewer tries. The guessers get points based on how many tries they need to get it right, and the person with the fewest points at the end of the game wins. To diversify the standard gameplay, players can also compete in Fast, Timed and Team modes.
