Warhammer 40,000: Darktide release date pushed back a few months

Fatshark originally planned to release the game on PC and Xbox at the same time on September 13, 2022, but the studio has since encountered technical difficulties and today announced a forced postponement. And if PC users get the game on November 30, then the release date of the game on consoles is completely unknown – a cooperative shooter in the dark universe of Warhammer 40,000 will be released on Xbox consoles “shortly after the release on PC.”

“Delaying a video game is probably one of the most difficult decisions a developer has to make, and one that they certainly don’t get excited about. However, we hope this news speaks to our commitment to making the best game possible by giving it as much time as possible,” says Martin Valund, CEO and co-founder of the Stockholm team.

While we are honored to read so many great reviews for the game, we also need more time to improve stability, performance, and optimize key systems. Each one is critical to delivering the best experience for you, the players.

Developed by the creators of Warhammer: Vermintide II, Warhammer 40K: Darktide invites players to try to reclaim Tertia from hordes of bloodthirsty enemies in this ruthless and brutal co-op action shooter.
