Vin Diesel dedicated a touching post to Paul Walker, who died nine years ago

On the night before the ninth anniversary of his friend’s death, the Riddick star shared a photo on social media on Tuesday.

“Nine years… love you and miss you,” Diesel, 55, wrote alongside the photo.

Walker died on November 30, 2013 in a car accident. He was 40 years old. As he was in the middle of filming Fast & Furious 7 at the time, Paul’s brothers were hired to fill in for him during filming, after which his face was digitally superimposed onto their bodies.

Walker’s brother Cody spoke to TMZ last year praising how Diesel continues to honor his late brother’s memory.

I think Vin and the whole family did a good job of letting the character walk off into the sunset with style. I think Paul would be thrilled with where he ended up. It has become so crazy. It’s a wild, wild ride for now. I can’t imagine what he would have thought, I just know Vin has always taken Paul’s legacy very seriously and has always done a very good job paying homage to his character,” added Cody. “They worked together and were brothers throughout many years. They were all so young when it all started.
