The third “Venom” will suddenly become a directorial debut. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be directed by British screenwriter Kelly Marcel.
In the past, Marcel worked on the scripts for both parts of Venom, and she wrote the sequel without the involvement of other writers. She also adapted the novel Fifty Shades of Grey, for a film by Sam Taylor-Johnson.
Marcel will write the script for the new Venom based on his and Tom Hardy’s ideas. So it was in the case of the second film.
Venom is set to be released within Sony’s Spider-Man universe. Among the company’s future projects are “Madame Web”, “Craven the Hunter” and “El Muero” directed by Jonas Cuarón.
