Announced last year, the long-awaited sequel to the movie comic book Constantine: The Lord of Darkness is going through hard times. Launched before the appointment of James Gunn and Peter Safran, the project does not really fit into the plans for a DC reboot and is in danger of being canceled. And then there’s the strike of screenwriters that has started, puts spokes in the wheels. As screenwriter Akiva Goldsman confirms.
“So far nothing can be done. But as soon as the situation is resolved, then “Konstantin” will be the first project that I will take on. Francis, Keanu and I are at a low start right now.”Goldsman shares the details.
Keanu Reeves’ rise to popularity thanks to John Wick helped launch the sequel 17 years later. The actor himself has repeatedly stated that he would like to return to the role of exorcist John Constantine. Over the years, he persuaded the heads of the studio to give him the opportunity to reprise the role of the cult demonologist and fighter against evil spirits.
