The release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum delayed by several months

Back in May, it was announced that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum would release on September 1, 2022. While this is certainly good news, it was specified at the time that the Switch version would arrive “later this year”, with no specific release date given.

Now it has been revealed that the game has been delayed across all platforms, which could further push back the release of the Switch version. The announcement from Daedalic Entertainment and NACON states:

Daedalic Entertainment and NACON would like to thank all the players for their patience and support so far. The team has been hard at work over the past few years to share our vision for a wonderful story set in a breathtaking world filled with magic and wonder. We strive to live up to our community’s expectations and unravel Gollum’s untold story in a way that honors the vision of J.R.R. Tolkien. With this in mind, in order to provide the best possible experience, we have decided to delay the release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum by a few months. We will announce the exact dates in the near future.

Like this; At the time of this writing, we do not have an exact release date for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum on any platform. What is clear, however, is that we probably shouldn’t expect the game to release in 2022, and the delay will likely push it to spring 2023, and possibly beyond.
