Until a certain point, it was believed that video game adaptations are an indicator of hack work and low budgets. However, in recent years, this trend has begun to change: there are such adaptations as “Super Mario”, “Detective Pikachu” or the series based on The Last of Us.
It should be noted that a huge number of video games may well be filmed as a movie or TV series. In connection with the upcoming release of Baldur’s Gate 3, the editors of the gry-online portal had a question about what a series based on this cult series might look like. With the help of Midjourney software, they generated a number of well-known characters from the game. The result was surprisingly good, and a similar film based on Baldur’s Gate would probably be good.
What could a Baldur’s Gate movie be about? First of all, it would be a story told from the point of view of the protagonist, who has to go on a long and dangerous journey, discovering long-forgotten secrets. It is impossible to do without meeting the dangers that the forces of Bhaal throw up. The film was bound to have epic fights with powerful creatures and demons. Skirmishes with characters such as Sarevok or even Bhaal himself would have been exciting moments in the production.
It must be admitted that in the end you can get a more than satisfactory result. But will there ever be a movie adaptation of Baldur’s Gate? At the moment, probably not. Who knows, maybe in the future Hollywood will decide to film one of the adventures experienced in this virtual world.
