The Lord of the Rings trilogy has always been considered one of the greatest fantasy films of all time, but it’s a shame we never had a decent video game adaptation.
Blogger Enfant Terrible recently shared on her YouTube channel a new video showcasing an Unreal Engine 5 powered fantasy adaptation of a video game based on the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy.
This is just a quick demo with no game sections, which means you can’t download the project or change its base to make it a playable game. However, it can be a great source of inspiration for big budget studios to try their hand at immersing themselves in the unique world of J.R.R. Tolkien and create something unusual.
The above video features some of the signature locations and environments from the Lord of the Rings films that have been masterfully recreated in Unreal Engine 5.
Deadalic Entertainment is currently working on The Lord of the Rings Gollum, a new story-driven game based on this massive universe, but unfortunately there is no official release date yet.
Currently the biggest fantasy game is Avalanche Studios’ Hogwarts Legacy, due out later this year, introducing the incredible world of Harry Potter based on the novels of J.K. Rowling.
