The blogger compared the graphics of Sackboy: A Big Adventure on PC, PS5 and Steam Deck

Sackboy: A Big Adventure was originally only available on PS4 and PS5, but with the release of the game on PC this month, fans are sure to be curious to see what the console versions look like.

The Sackboy: A Big Adventure version supports new features not available on the PS5, although they can be quite demanding and require fairly powerful hardware. This includes graphical options such as rayed shadows, rayed reflections, and rayed ambient occlusion.

So with these settings turned on, the PC version delivers more physically accurate shadows, reflections, and ambient occlusion. However, it is worth noting that shadow tracing is not enabled globally, but only applies to certain elements.

Meanwhile, Steam Deck fans will surely be interested to know how the game works on Valve’s handheld. The answer is that the game runs great on Steam Deck and is capable of running at medium 800p settings, delivering a solid 60fps. In terms of graphic quality, it is comparable to the PS4 version. However, unfortunately Sackboy: A Big Adventure does not currently support 16:10 aspect ratio on Steam Deck.

In terms of load times, the PS5 version leads the way compared to other versions, even when compared to the PC version running on a modern NVMe SSD.

All in all, the PC version is a decent port, with modern graphical features not found in the console versions. However, these features come at a high price, as ray tracing is extremely demanding and not worth the visual upgrades.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a platform game for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC developed by Sumo Digital and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. This is a spin-off of the LittleBigPlanet series and features Sackboy in a 3D platform game instead of the 2.5D of the previous installments. On June 11, 2020, she was unveiled at the PlayStation 5 launch event, which was streamed over the Internet. In a blog post dated September 16, 2020, it was announced that the game will be published for PlayStation 4. North America and Oceania will receive it on November 12, 2020, and the rest of the world on November 19, 2020.
