Square Enix appears to have completed the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth campaign Today, there was a tweet on Twitter announcing news coming soon.
Specifically, creative director Tetsuya Nomura said that people can expect the reveal to be “soon.” Coincidentally, this news falls on the same day as the Summer Game Fest presentation. It looks like the fan theory was confirmed, and you can find out more about it Here.

Day 1: The developers are thinking about the exact release date.
Day 2: Outside of Midgar, a big world awaits us.
Day 3: In Rebirth we will learn the fate of different characters.
Day 4: Playing the previous remake is optional.
Day 5: New characters will join the team.
Day 6: New and remastered music will play in the game.
