A representative of Tencent denied rumors about the similarity of MMORPG Tarisland with World of Warcraft from Blizzard Entertainment.
The producer, in an interview for the VG247 portal, noted that the game was created as an independent and original product with fresh views. The developer asked the community to be patient, as the title is at an early stage of creation, and therefore significant changes will be made in the final version.
The similarity between the titles was noted immediately after the release of the first trailer. Gamers emphasized that the locations from Tarisland resemble those already existing in WoW. Recall that at midnight on January 24, Chinese gamers said goodbye to their characters in World of Warcraft and other games from Activision Blizzard. Title servers have been disabled. The event occurred due to the rupture of a multi-year contract between the Chinese company NetEase and Activision Blizzard. The organizations cooperated for 14 years, but could not agree on intellectual property, personal data processing and financial terms.
