According to a new rumor, a new Spider-Man trilogy with Tom Holland could be coming in the near future. Journalist Jeff Sneider outlined Spidey’s cinematic future. According to him, “there are plans to create another trilogy with Tom Holland,” but the actor may not have signed the corresponding contract yet.
I don’t think he signed a contract, so for now these plans remain unofficial. However, I’m sure Spidey’s new adventures with Holland are top priority.
Sony producer Amy Pascal previously hinted that a new trilogy was in development as early as November 2021. She later retracted those comments in an interview with Variety, saying:
As long as Tom Holland wants to do Spider-Man films, we will continue to make Spider-Man films. But I’m a producer, and I always think that everything will work out.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, meanwhile, told The New York Times in December 2021 that future Spider-Man films are “actively starting to develop.”
For his part, Holland was unsure if he would return to the role:
Some part of me feels that now is the time to jump off the building and into the sunset to give the next lucky person a chance to put on a suit. Or, I don’t know, I can buy a new house, I need a salary, and I’ll be back.
