Finally, Sony announced the release date of God of War Ragnarok, the game will be released in November. The announcement of the release date was not accompanied by a demonstration of new gameplay, but cinematic trailer and a PlayStation Blog entry detailing the various editions the game will be released with.
For starters, of course, there’s the Standard Edition, or Launch Edition as Sony calls it. It includes the base game, and if you pre-order, you’ll receive two in-game cosmetic additions – the Risen Snow Armor for Kratos and the Risen Snow Tunic for Atreus. If you purchase the game on PS4, you can upgrade to PS5 for $10.
In addition, the Digital Deluxe Edition, in addition to the base game, includes a digital mini-album, official OST, Darkdale Armor for Kratos, Darkdale Attire for Atreus, Darkdale Blades Handles for Blades of Chaos, and Darkdale Ace Grip for Leviathan Axe. Plus, you’ll get a set of avatars for your PSN profile and a PS4 theme.
There is also a collector’s edition, which will be a lot of interesting things. This is a copy of the 16-inch Thor’s hammer – Mjolnir, 2-inch figures, a set of gnome dice and a steel case with a download code for the game itself. All this will be in a box, which is the sanctuary of the Keeper of Knowledge.
Finally, there is the Jotnar Edition. In addition to everything included in the Collector’s Edition and the Digital Deluxe Edition, the Jotnar Edition will include a 7″ vinyl with music by the game’s composer Bear McCreary, a set of Falcon, Bear and Wolf pins, a Yggdrasil cloth card, a legendary Draupnir’s ring and Brock’s dice set, replacing the aforementioned Dwarf dice set.
Sony also released a video showing the contents of the Collector’s Edition and Jotnar Edition. Look it up here.
God of War Ragnarok is coming to PS5 and PS4 on November 9th.
