It’s unknown how long we’ll have to wait for Mario Kart 9, but at least fans of the series have something to look forward to. Earlier this year, Nintendo announced the Booster Course Pass for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which will include 48 remastered tracks from other games in the series as DLC for the Switch game over six waves. The first of these waves started back in March, and as time passes, many begin to wonder when new tracks will appear.
It looks like it might happen in the near future. As @PushDustIn spotted on Twitter, the 7-11 stores are advertising skipping the Booster course in Japan. The ad focuses only on the first wave, which has already been released, and details about future waves are still unclear. Interestingly, however, the top right corner of the employee ad states that ads can’t be shown after July 17th, suggesting they may be outdated soon, and that the announcement of a second wave of DLC tracks may be around the corner.
Previously, the names of the cups that will be added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe in all waves have been revealed, and datamining has also potentially revealed information about a number of upcoming tracks.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available on Nintendo Switch. As of the beginning of this year, the game has sold 45.33 million units.
