Apparently, Windows Central made a mistake and published an article where it confirmed that from September 1, 2023, Xbox Live Gold is transforming into a new Game Pass tier called Xbox Game Pass Core. Later, the article was given, but the Korean portal café.naver managed to save the information.
A Core subscription will become mandatory to access online multiplayer and other features. The basic subscription will cost the same as Live Gold ($9.99 per month / $59.99 per year). All existing Live Gold subscribers will be upgraded to Xbox Game Pass Core. There will be 25+ games available under Core (MS says this list will expand in the coming months) Game Pass, including:
Among Us, Descenders, Dishonored 2, DOOM Eternal, Fable Anniversary, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Grounded, Halo 5: Guardians, Halo Wars 2, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Human Fall Flat, INSIDE, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Psychonauts 2, State of Decay 2, Elder Scrolls Online: Tamri el Unlimited.
All free Games with Gold games purchased through the Xbox Live Gold program will remain on the user’s account. Existing Xbox Game Pass tiers – Console, PC, and Ultimate – will remain unchanged.
Official confirmation and more details are expected either today or later this week.
