Capcom has set a 2025 release date for Resident Evil 9, according to new rumors. In addition, at the end of this year, it will become known about the new game of the publisher, which is scheduled for release in the fall of 2024. We know very little about the expected sequel to Resident Evil Village, the eighth main installment in the survival horror franchise.
According to well-known insider Dusk Golem, Capcom plans to release Resident Evil 9 in 2025, and the presentation of the game could take place next year. The game is allegedly being developed under the code name “Resident Evil Apocalypse” and may feature mythological creatures such as wendigo and other folklore monsters.
Dusk Golem also revealed that Capcom is aiming to release a “big game” later this year, with a release scheduled for Fall 2024. Many fans speculate that this is the next game in the Monster Hunter series and the successor to Monster Hunter World, which the team has been quietly working on for the past few years. It is possible that this unannounced game may turn out to be something completely different, so we can only wait and see.
As with all other rumors and reports, until we get confirmation from Capcom, take this with a pinch of salt.
