The fate, and future, of Rick Grimes has remained uncertain ever since the former sheriff “sacrificed” himself to save his family in season 9 of The Walking Dead. Well, that’s how it has been so far.
The character of Andrew Lincoln will appear in a miniseries along with his long-lost love Michonne (Danai Gurira) in 2023, which will consist of six episodes.
Lincoln and Gurira are executive producers on the series and are “actively involved” in creating the next chapter in their characters’ lives. Scott Gimple is the showrunner.

The series’ official synopsis foreshadows the couple’s dramatic adventure as they see “an epic love story between two heroes who have been changed by a world that has changed. Distance separates them. An irresistible force. The ghosts of who they used to be. Rick and Michonne find themselves in another world built on a war against the dead. …and ultimately at war against the living Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike anything they knew before? Are they enemies?Lovers?Victims?Victims “Are they even alive without each other, or will they discover that they too are the walking dead?”.
