Raw Fury publisher and Croatian developer Fury Studios have unveiled an animated intro from Kingdom Eighties: Summer of Greed. The game was supposed to release in 2022 for PC and “the coolest platforms”, but has now been pushed back to 2023.
The new spin-off is set in 1980s America, and the medieval setting of Kingdom turns into an 80s themed adventure.
It would be easy to assume that Fury Studios rode the Stranger Things wave of popularity, but game director Gordon Van Dyke told us that it’s actually his own childhood that formed the basis of this game, drawing inspiration from the same wells as the Netflix TV series. . The Goonies, the Throne, the Transformers cartoon and so on and so forth had a great influence.
