Sony announced in its financial report that total shipments of the PlayStation 5 worldwide exceeded 25 million units.
In total, 3.3 million PlayStation 5s were shipped in the three months ended September 30, 2022. PlayStation 5 shipments are in line with the previous fiscal year.
Here are some additional statistics:
- As of September 30, 2022, there were 45.4 million PlayStation Plus subscribers, down 1.8 million from 47.2 million in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
- PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 software sold 62.5 million copies in the three months ended September 30, 2022, down 13.9 million from the same period in the previous fiscal year of 76.4 million copies sold software. 6.7 million units were produced by manufacturing companies, down 900,000 from the same period in the previous fiscal year, when 7.6 million units were sold. 63 percent of software sales were all-digital game software downloads, up from 62 percent the previous year.
