Petition to bring Verdansk back to Call of Duty: Warzone signed by thousands of people

Verdansk was removed from Call of Duty: Warzone Verdansk 2021, but now, ahead of the release of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2, players are calling for its return with a petition that has garnered thousands of signatures.

On December 8, 2021, Warzone players fought in Verdansk for the last time. The Eastern European-style map has been replaced by Caldera, which was recently updated as part of the fourth season of Warzone. The new map has disappointed some Call of Duty fans due to the fact that it’s based on the 2021 Vanguard and comes with WWII-era weapons rather than modern ones. However, ahead of the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta and pending further details about the release date of Warzone 2, some in the CoD community have advocated for the return of Verdansk, creating the #BringBackVerdansk hashtag and even finding support from American music producer Marshmello.

And now an online petition is gaining momentum, having so far garnered the signatures of over 14,000 Call of Duty players who want Verdansk back.

“We, the players and the community, want to be able to choose and not be forced to play on a certain map or in a certain mode,” reads a statement accompanying the petition. on Change.org. “Many of us love Modern Warfare and love to play with modern weapons. We’re a big group that hates WW2 weapons. We’re not asking you to destroy Caldera. We’re just asking you to give us a choice. Give us back Verdansk and modern weapons. Many of us are thinking of leaving the game and waiting for MW2 to come out in 2022. We don’t want that, so dear Blizzard Activision, respect and appreciate the great support you get from us. Heed our wishes and don’t force us to play the game, which we don’t like.”

Whether Verdansk will make one last farewell tour before the end of Warzone, or possibly return to Warzone 2, remains to be seen, but it’s clear that a die-hard CoD fan base really wants him back.
