Although AMD has not officially released Zen 3 Ryzen Threadripper processors for the sTRX4 platform, engineering samples of such CPUs do exist. One of them, namely the older 64-core Threadripper 5990X, fell into the hands of the overclocker SkatterBencher.
The enthusiast overclocked this “monster” to a frequency of 4625-4825 MHz, depending on the CCD chip. To do this, the voltage had to be increased to 1.45 V. In this mode, the chip scored more than 100,000 points in the Cinebench R23 benchmark. According to HWiNFO64, the Threadripper 5990X peaked at 691W.
To achieve this result, a custom liquid cooling system was used, the motherboard ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha and 4-channel DDR4 memory.
I will add that AMD recently released for the retail market Threadripper Pro 5000WX, compatible with sWRX8 motherboards. Overclocking is not blocked, so in the near future we will see more than one record from the AMD HEDT platform.
