    Microsoft called the sale of Call of Duty exclusively in Battle.net a failure

    Microsoft representatives said in court with the US Federal Trade Commission that the exclusive sale of the Call of Duty series on Battle.net was a failure. From 2018 to 2022, there was no significant increase in the number of launcher users.

    On Steam, the number of monthly active users on Steam almost doubled over the same period, from 67 million in 2017 to 132 million in 2021. Since 2022, Activision has started releasing Call of Duty on Steam.

    11 the court sided with Microsoft in a dispute with the US FTC. Now the company has to convince the British regulators, who have already said they are ready to re-examine the IT giant’s deal with Activision Blizzard, but with one condition.
