    MetalFish Launches Aquarium PC Case

The Chinese company MetalFish has launched the Y2 Fish Tank Chassis PC case with a fish tank on top. This is a highly specialized device for PC users – aquarists.

The body size is 370x250x290 mm (LxWxH). This is approximately 27 liters. If we consider that half of the body is an aquarium, then in the end there are not so many fish left – about 13 liters for swimming.

The fish housing comes with a pump, filter and USB-powered aeration oxygenator.

It is assumed that in this case you can install a Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboard and other computer elements, including a video card up to 200-220 mm and a compact 1U or FlexATX power supply. PC components are located in a separate case below, which is protected from water from above by a 3 mm thick Plexiglas layer. Inside the aquarium case, you can install one 2.5-inch hard drive, two 90mm fans, and a CPU cooler up to 90mm high.

“Flowers, birds, fish and insects are traditional personal hobbies, and a beautifully landscaped aquarium will make users feel relaxed and calm in any situation. Our cross-border product, which combines a desktop aquarium with a high-performance PC, is what enthusiasts who like to monitor fish and computers on their own and at the same time need, MetalFish explained.

MetalFish did not elaborate on how a constantly running and noisy PC would affect fish in an aquarium. The developers did not make thermal protection from the upper part there, and also did not offer a thermometer or other indication in the package to make it clear that the fish may be uncomfortable due to the high temperature from the PC. Also, there is no protection for fish from cats and other pets in the PC case kit.

This is MetalFish’s second foray into the PC aquarium market. Its first building was of a different type: there the aquarium is located on the side.
