Spider-Man will receive a new story in the form of an anime series from Marvel. According to the announcement, the upcoming project will be released under the title Spider-Man: Freshman Year.
The creative idea will be implemented by the Japanese animation studio Polygon Pictures, which is responsible for creating CGI animation in such projects as Godzilla, Blame! and Knights of Sidonia. This is stated in a press release from the studio, which also shared the logo of the upcoming series.
Project details are kept confidential. Marvel Studios has yet to announce who will write and direct First Year. It is also unknown who will voice the characters. It is possible that the plot of the series will focus on the history of the formation of Spider-Man as a superhero.
A sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has also been launched. The film will complete the Miles Morales trilogy.
