Over the year, the number of counterfeit equipment has almost doubled.
IQ Technology has calculated that between July 2022 and July 2023, the number of counterfeit goods on popular Russian marketplaces almost doubled.
During the study, more than 15,000 product cards from AliExpress, Wildberries, Ozon, Yandex.Market and Sbermegamarket were processed. If in 2022 the share of counterfeit smartphones was 12%, now this figure has risen to 31%. The number of counterfeit laptops increased from 22% to 31%, small household appliances from 15% to 34%, smart watches from 35% to 63%, and headphones and speakers from 27% to 69%.
According to the company, sellers most often sell counterfeit gadgets from Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi. Most often, such devices are produced in China, Pakistan and India.
Alas, fakes for some products are almost impossible to detect, since manufacturers adhere to the declared characteristics, but use cheaper and less reliable components (for example, in laptops).
