Mark Hamill backs Luke Skywalker’s recast

After a long break of 30 years, Mark Hamill returned to the role of Luke Skywalker in Disney’s Star Wars sequel trilogy. And although the new films caused a lot of conflicting emotions from the fans, they were still financially successful. Luke also appeared in The Mandalorian, but rejuvenated with the wonders of modern technology. In an interview with Esquire, Mark Hamill raised the possibility of creating a full-fledged series or movie with Luke’s CGI.

“People are saying that now you can do a whole series of Luke Skywalker films that take place after the events of Return of the Jedi,” says Hamill. “And I don’t think they need to tell his further story. And if you still need it, then you can take an actor suitable for age. ”

Disney and Lucasfilm have had similar bad experiences in the past with the replacement of a key character in the saga. Fans did not accept actor Alden Ehrenreich as the famous smuggler. Han Solo: Star Wars. Stories ”did not become a box office hit, not justifying the hopes of the creators. And not least because of the constant comparisons between Ehrenreich and Ford.
