Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali will star in the Blade reboot, which marks the character’s debut in the new Marvel Cinematic Universe. At Comic-Con, Kevin Feige revealed that “Blade will hit theaters in late 2023. Ali took the opportunity to comment on the news on his social account, posting a poster of the movie and a blood drop emoji.

The actor shared the film’s logo, accompanied by a blood drop emoji and the words 2023. By the end of the year, Blade is due to begin filming, and so far, Ali has only made his vocal debut in the Eternals finale, despite rumors of him appearing in Moon Knight.

One of the characters considered for the role of Moon Knight was Dane Whitman, played by Kit Harington in Immortals and with whom Blade speaks in a post-credits scene.

Wesley Snipes believes in Mahershala Ali and has said he thinks the Oscar-winning actor for Moonlight and Green Book is up to the task.
