Brilliant platformer LocoRoco Midnight Carnival, previously only available to PlayStation Portable and Sony Ericsson Xperia Play users, will soon be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Although the game has not yet been officially announced, its page has been noticed by PlayStation Store users. It appears that Sony Interactive Entertainment is gearing up for a monthly refill of the updated PS Plus subscription system, which gives Premium and Deluxe users the opportunity to play a variety of retro games.
The game’s description lists “faster rendering, rewind, quick saves, and custom video filters.” This means that this game will be emulated on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 hardware in the same way as other premium PS Plus games. This is great news for LocoRoco fans, as until recently they were only able to play the first games in the series thanks to the remasters of LocoRoco and LocoRoco 2. Then they were joined by LocoRoco Cocoreccho!, which is only available in streaming friendly countries. Well, now it’s the turn of the famous spin-off, which is remembered by users for its increased dynamics, high complexity and Halloween theme.
It is suspected that LocoRoco Midnight Carnival will be part of the July update, which will also include the brand new Stray and several games from the Assassin’s Creed series. In any case, such information comes from various sources. Sony Interactive Entertainment is also expected to add several other PlayStation Portable games soon, including the legendary Ridge Racer 2 and echoshift.
