According to Twisted Voxel, the Australian ratings board has added Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition to its database, possibly anticipating the announcement of a free update with various enhancements meant for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The card related to the game, unfortunately, does not indicate the platforms or other specific details. However, it was added to the “Name Change – Game” category, which would seem to suggest that this is not a re-release, but a name change that may occur after the release of the free update.
So the theory is that Little Nightmares could get a free update for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S with various graphical enhancements including ray tracing, as already happened in 2021 for the sequel.
In the case of Little Nightmares 2, the Enhanced Edition adds Performance (4K and 60fps) and Beauty (4K, 30fps and ray-traced reflections) graphics modes, 3D shadows, support for headphones and 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound systems, and more. . We may also see similar improvements for the first chapter of the horror series published by Bandai Namco, but to know for sure we’ll just have to wait.
