John David Washington against artificial intelligence on the new footage of “Creator”

Star Wars: Rogue One director Gareth Edwards is returning to the spectacular science fiction genre, now outside of major studio franchises. Total Film magazine shares footage from the filming of the director’s upcoming new project, The Maker with John David Washington (Black Klansman).

According to the lead actor, The Creator is described as a “clash of beauty and violence” that feels emotional and big at the same time. The film is a wholly original project by Edwards from a script he co-wrote with Oscar-nominated Chris Weitz for My Boy.

The plot takes place in the future, where humanity is embroiled in a grandiose war against artificial intelligence. Washington plays a special agent tasked with destroying the enemy and ending the war. But there is a problem – the enemy turns out to be a child with built-in artificial intelligence.

The premiere will take place on September 29 in theaters.
