Maybe this is the same gun? Then the elder from the finale of Predator 2 is the one who will hunt the Indians in Prey? Of course, this will become a wild spoiler (it’s immediately clear who will win), but in fact, another Predator could have taken the gun, for example, along with the body of a fallen comrade. And keep the weapon as a trophy to hand over to the next worthy opponent. There is a lot of scope for theories here, you can fantasize until the very premiere.
