    In Russia, there was a shortage of spare parts for repairing laptops



    According to the Izvestiya newspaper, there is a shortage of parts for repairing Asus, Acer, HP, Huawei, Lenovo and Apple laptops in Russia. Employees of authorized service centers (ASCs) told reporters that in the current conditions it is quite difficult to replace any part.

    Most often, laptop users break keyboards.

    • On the Huawei technical support line, they reported that in Russia only two keyboards for the MateBook X Pro 2020 could be replaced – in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
    • There are no contacts with the HP brand that left Russia now, so spare parts are ordered from China. Delivery time is approximately 4-6 weeks.
    • Parts for Acer are waiting for 2-4 weeks.
    • The service center that repairs Lenovo laptops reported that only a part of the spare parts were in stock, while some of the missing ones could not be obtained even on order.

    However, there is also a positive moment: vendors that have not severed relations with Russia supply Russian-language keyboards to service centers.

    The situation with the repair of the MacBook is somewhat better than with other laptops, however, the supply of parts for Apple devices is also delayed. Employees of one of the ASCs note that the diagnosis takes from one to three business days. And the entire service, as a rule, is five working days.

    Now, due to problems with logistics, the item can arrive both within a week and within a month. Re:Store said it takes an average of seven business days to service a laptop.

    Interestingly, there are no problems with components in unauthorized ADCs. In such workshops, they promise to repair the laptop right on the day of the call. Apparently, the point is the use of non-original components.
