The second season of fantasy “House of the Dragon” will continue to be filmed, despite the start of the strike of the Screeners Guild of the USA (SAG-AFTRA).
This was made possible thanks to an agreement between the guild and the British trade union Equity. By law, the work of the trade union should not stop, so all the actors who are members of both organizations are required to continue filming.
“House of the Dragon” is a prequel to “Game of Thrones” and tells about the reign of the Targaryen dynasty. The series won a Golden Globe for Best Drama and was nominated for eight Emmy Awards. Filming began in April and continued despite the Writers Guild of America strike (all scripts were written in advance).
An exact release date for the second season on HBO has not been revealed.
In parallel, the filming process of another HBO project, Dune: The Sisterhood, will resume in Hungary. The Dune prequel will star Emily Watson (Breaking the Waves) and Olivia Williams (The Crown).
