It won’t be long before fans get to see the long-awaited trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Director James Gunn took the stage during the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday to unveil the Marvel Studios sequel film, which wrapped filming in May and is slated for release on May 5, 2023.
The first footage, set to “Do You Realize” by The Flaming Lips, explored the origins of baby Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and featured Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and all-gold Adam Warlock (Will Poulter), the new character featured in post-credit scene Vol. 2 in 2017. The trailer was shown exclusively to Comic-Con viewers and was not made available to fans. But not so long ago, a trailer recording in terrible quality appeared on the network, which you can see below.
“Too bad we all couldn’t see the Guardians trailer yesterday,” one fan tweeted to Gunn on Sunday, along with an image of sad baby Groot. “It’s really sad that Marvel is hiding from us fans your amazing piece of space opera.”
In response, Gunn tweeted, “I’d like that too. But it’s not just about Marvel, it’s about me. While I love the teaser, some of the visuals aren’t where I want them to be. Remember, we’re not completed a long time ago – so you’ll have to wait a bit! Sorry!”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 hits screens on May 5, 2023.
