Gotham Knights gameplay confirms the death of another character from the Batman universe

16 minutes of new Gotham Knights gameplay showed us the game in action, as well as revealing the fate of one of the villains in the Batman universe, whom fans remember from perhaps Batman: Arkham Knight’s most famous moment.

Even though Gotham Knights won’t release until October, May’s gameplay reveal of Nightwing and the Red Hood was the best way to get a glimpse of the game so far. And the other day, the portal IGN posted new footage from the very beginning of the adventure action game, as well as an updated look at the gameplay of Batgirl.

While the new information is pretty decent, the most significant is the confirmation of the death of Kirk Langstrom, aka Man-Bat, the source of the most famous jump scare in Batman: Arkham Knight. In the footage, Batgirl travels to Gotham University to meet with Langstrom to investigate Batman’s death – only to discover that he, too, has been killed. Thus, in this universe, both Batman and Man-bat are dead.

Langstrom is unlikely to be the “big” Gotham Knights villain that was talked about at SDCC in July, especially if that villain is dead, so expect it sooner rather than later.
