Tech giant Google continues to experiment with the design and features of the Play Store to make it more user-friendly.
Recently, the official Android app store received several new features, and it will reportedly receive another new but minor external update as part of the Google Material You design.
9to5Google reported that Google has begun rolling out a wider and larger Refresh button for the Google Play Store. The changes are now part of the Google Material You theme, which initially updated the look and feel of the Play Store app and then added modern, rounded buttons.
According to the report, the large Refresh buttons are a server-side refresh. Thus, it may take time to reach all users.
Plus, the big Update button in My Apps & Games seems like a welcome change, especially if you like to manually update your apps. A large button means a large touch area, and it can come in handy if you have a long list of pending app updates.
Among other things, Google is also working on a major redesign of the Play Store for tablets and foldable devices. As part of the redesign, the company will make content and apps front, right, and center. The “Search” button will also undergo some changes. Google announced the updated design at I/O the following May.
