Studio Sony Santa Monica has shared the release date for the long-awaited sequel to the Scandinavian adventures of the former Greek god of war Kratos and his son Atreus.
God of War Ragnarok, which follows the 2018 reboot of the series, will release on November 9 this year, so fears that the game was pushed back to next year have not materialized. Both PlayStation 5 owners and those who have not yet upgraded to the new generation and still play on PlayStation 4 can rejoice. Given Sony’s current policy, it is also obvious that the game will appear on PC within a few years.
The God of War series debuted on the PlayStation 2, where the first two installments were released. The third part was released in 2010 on the third PlayStation and at the time of release it struck with its brutality, but above all with its technical elaboration. In addition to two handheld PSP spin-offs (Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta), 2013 saw fans receive a relatively lukewarm prequel, Ascension, in which, among other things, the series tried out multiplayer. The return with fanfare came after five long years, when the brand moved from ancient Greece to Scandinavian fables and myths and significantly changed the gameplay and character of the protagonist.
