GeForce RTX 4080 is now available for order in the UK ahead of official sales

The NVIDIA RTX 4080 16GB graphics card will go on sale November 16th. While this date is over 2 weeks away, some retailers in the UK already have the RTX 4080 in stock for purchase. Listed pricing starts at £1,450 (roughly $1,700), which is 45% more than NVIDIA’s MSRP of $1,199.

RTX 4080 is up for sale via Laptopsdirect with shipping in 3 weeks from today (October 30th). We are talking about Palit RTX 4080 GameRock OC/non-OC and OmniBlack GPUs. Similarly, you can also purchase these GPUs in installments starting at £47 (roughly $55) per month.

Without a doubt, the price is extremely high even for a non-standard option. The RTX 4090 has now suffered the same fate, priced at £1,929 (roughly $2,240). Remember that this is the lowest price we can currently find for laptops.

So even though the GPU mining apocalypse is over, we are still seeing record high prices. If AMD’s upcoming RDNA3 matches the 4080 or even 4090 in performance but costs less, NVIDIA may be forced to cut prices. While NVIDIA isn’t directly to blame here, the slightly lower cost benefits everyone.

The RTX 4080 16GB is equipped with 16GB of GDDR6X memory over a 256-bit bus where effective bandwidth reaches a whopping 720GB/s. Such insane bandwidth can be achieved with 22.5 Gb/s memory, which is 20% faster than the previous generation. The RTX 4080 16GB graphics card features the latest AD103 GPU and 9728 CUDA cores for extra computing performance. To top it off, it consumes only 320 watts.
