This turns the servers into spooky ghost towns, which is a sad parallel to the state of the game.
This new bug removes all NPCs and even animals from the world of Red Dead Online. At the moment, it has only been seen on PC, and it is not yet known what is causing it. According to one of the commenters on the game’s subreddit, the problems have persisted for several days.
One of the players suggested changing the server, writing that today they saw a lot of animals and NPCs, but two days ago the game was unplayable. Another suggested that “even NPCs are tired of Rockstar’s crap”.
To both mourn and protest the one year anniversary of the last major content update for Red Dead Online on July 13 players held funerals all over the game world. Some dressed up in their Sunday attire, others wanted to personally mail the beans to Rockstar – a nod to the game’s terrible economy at launch – and the man who plays Arthur Morgan himself, Roger Clark, even tweeted about the game.
Players were not happy to learn that the game was being shut down to redirect resources to GTA 6, especially since GTA Online is constantly undergoing content updates, balances and fixes.
