Modder chainfailure has released a must-have mod for Elden Ring. This mod makes all lights cast dynamic shadows and can transform some interior spaces such as caves and dungeons.
While the modder didn’t share a video, he did provide a comparison screenshot, which you can find below. A screenshot of the modified version is on the left, and a screenshot of the vanilla version is on the right.
As you can clearly see, the torch can now cast dynamic shadows. Ray-traced shadows in the game itself cannot solve this problem. So no, you can’t get dynamic shadows from all lights just by enabling the ray tracing features in the game.
What’s also interesting is that the modder was able to get this mod to work with Dark Souls 3. So you can experiment by dropping the file into the Dark Souls 3 folder. Just be aware that there may be some visual bugs and glitches with it. .
