While Elden Ring continues to top the sales charts month after month, some fans are looking forward to what’s next for FromSoftware’s biggest game to date. Ahead of the potential expansion, one fan pledged to add Iron Fist Alexander, a fan-favorite Elden Ring character, to a random movie scene every day until the DLC was announced.
Fan expectations for the DLC are high, as is the hype around it. Preparing for the DLC announcement, a Reddit user freetrolley42 took it upon himself to photoshop Alexander Iron Fist into random movie scenes every day until that happens. The first post shows Alexander from Forrest Gump standing next to Forrest during the iconic scene where the character reaches the Santa Monica Pier and turns around to continue his legendary marathon. Freetrolley42 is currently on its second day, photoshopping Alexander to the opening scene of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, where Alexander takes the place of Silent Bob.
The Elden Ring community is very happy with freetrolley42’s photoshop antics. The first day post currently has over 22,000 likes, but many are wondering how long these posts will last. FromSoftware hasn’t even announced its intention to make an extension yet. Moreover, not every game in the From catalog received DLC.
Interestingly, the format of photoshopping something related to games into a movie scene is not new. During that year, a fan on the Steam Deck subreddit Photoshopped a Valve laptop into a movie scene every day until the purchase happened. These posts lasted 77 days and Steam Deck could be seen in movies ranging from modern hits like The Avengers to older movies like Breakfast at Tiffany’s. So I wonder how long an Elden Ring fan will last.
