Elden Ring did great in June 2022 in the US, so much so that it ranked #1 in the overall sales rankings and was one of the top 10 best-selling games in the area.
However, there are other surprises in the rankings: Overwatch is back in the top 20 (#5) for the first time since 2019 thanks to the launch of Overwatch 2 on June 28, 2022. Instead, Final Fantasy VII Remake. climbed to number nine, ranking 159th in May 2022. The reason for the new success can be found in the announcements made for the 25th anniversary of the original game, in particular the sequel: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. As of May 2020, a Square Enix game has not been in the US Top 20.
Also Monster Hunter Rise is back in the top 20 after the launch of Sunbreak. However, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Hinokami Chronicles for Nintendo Switch allowed the game to reach position fourteen.
