EA plans to release unannounced game on “major IP” in early 2023

EA plans to release a lot of games in the next few months. The publisher will release several games through the end of 2022, and only five games will be released in the first quarter of 2023, the final quarter of the company’s financial year 2022/23.

EA briefly described this release schedule as part of their recent quarterly financial briefing. Interestingly, of the aforementioned five releases, two have yet to be officially announced. One of them, according to EA, is a “big IP” and the other is described as a “partner game”.

As for the latter, EA is most likely referring to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which may have been officially announced but doesn’t have a specific launch window yet other than a vague 2023. However, according to rumors, the action-adventure sequel will be released in February or March.

An unannounced large IP is more of a question mark. Perhaps EA is referring to Skate, but developer Full Circle has stressed several times that the game is still in a relatively early stage of development. Whether it will be able to enter the market in the first months of 2023 is still unknown.

In addition to these two unannounced games, the Dead Space remake, the next PGTA Tour game, and the next Super Mega Baseball game will be released in the last quarter of the current fiscal year.

For 2022, EA has FIFA 23, Madden NFL 23, NHL 23, and the next Need for Speed game planned for the coming months.
