VGJ.Storm Takes GESC:Thailand Minor

VGJ.Storm took down Keen Gaming, in a 2-0 sweep, to win the GESC:Thailand Minor. Keen had come into the grand finals scorching hot, with the momentum from taking down EG, then pulled off the reverse sweep over Team Secret in the next series. Both VGJ.Storm and Keen Gaming are coming off roster changes, which puts them in a dire situation for DPC points. Keen won’t be competing at any of the final Majors, while VGJ.Storm will have two more changes at the Super Major and MDL Changsha to make their final push.
Meanwhile, despite getting eliminated at third, Team Secret secured enough points to become the third team, joining Virtus.Pro and Team Liquid, to secure a top 8 standing on the DPC board and an invite to TI8.
TI8 Battle Pass Released, With Daily and Weekly Challenges

Valve released the Battle Pass for TI8 and already the prize pool is at $8.5 million. The prize pool is currently outpacing all previous tournaments, and if Valve puts out another Battle Pass sale, TI might just break prize pool records again. Initially the Battle Pass was released without daily and weekly challenges, but after community backlash, Valve has included them. They appear to be the same ones as last year’s, but so far it is enough to appease players.
Patch 7.15 Arrives
Patch 7.15 released last week, with sweeping changes to the game’s economy. Now creeps give less gold, melee barracks give less gold, and tower denies gives the opposing team a whopping 0 gold. Roshan got buffed. While our initial impression is that these changes dampen snowballing teams, over the next week we’ll be taking a close look at the patch’s impact.
