Dota 2 – The Weekly CourierValve Hints At Possible 7.19d patch, CompleXity Gaming Qualifies For ESL Hamburg, Team Secret Wins PVP Title

Valve Still Working On Patch 7.20

In this post-TI lull, as reddit’s Dota community becomes consumed with fan art and appreciation threads, Valve employee Daniel chimes in on a reddit thread wondering on the next patch’s release. Daniel writes that the patch will be “roughly similar to the previous years in terms of distance from TI” and hints that they may release a patch 7.19d. in the meantime. With 2017’s patch released Oct. 31 and 2016’s on Dec. 12th, one possible window for this year’s patch might be sometime after the Dreamleague Minor. That puts the date around mid-November, avoiding a large patch update before the event.

CompleXity Gaming qualifies for ESL Hamburg

compleXity Gaming took the final slot at ESL Hamburg after taking down paiN X 3-2 (1 game upper bracket advantage) in the grand finals. Though this event should have sealed all the qualifying teams, Team Aster and Newbee needed to replay a game of the series. This was due to a penalty on Team Aster, who swapped players during a match. Team Aster ended up winning the re-play and qualifying. Though ESL One Hamburg is not part of the Dota Pro Circuit, it’s still one of the non-circuit events that can attract top international teams. ESL Hamburg will have a $300,000 prize pool.

Team Secret Takes PvP Esports Championship Title

Team Secret wins the PvP Championship title in a close 3-2 victory over Fnatic. The event featured a few heroes that went complete unpicked and unbanned during TI8. Fnatic. Abed had a perfect 12/0/14 Puck game against Admiral, and Secret.Zai showcased his Pangolier. Leading up to the Kuala Lumpur Major, the Singaporean tournament provided a preview of the potential matchups between a few of the qualifying teams: Team Secret, Fnatic, and PSG.LGD.
