Week 1 was an exciting and turbulent week for the Reach team. We collected a ton of data and feedback from players, and had our hands so full with changes that we pushed back this week’s play session to give us some breathing room to collect our thoughts and iterate on what has already been a great success. We saw players across both of our active regions play over 1000 games on Reach, with over 1200 unique players joining in the fray. We’re continuing to work hard to expand to even more people and will be opening up the ladder to lower ranked players than Immortals in the coming weeks. We want to thank all of our players, both active, and waiting for helping us to grow the seedlings of a sustainable Tier 2 Dota ecosystem.
So with the thank you’s out of the way, lets get down to what the people have been waiting for, the final placements of our first two play windows. These required a bit of manual review as we had some rockiness in our scoring system across the first few days, but we’ve finally completed that and confirmed the winners. I’d like to note, that in our rules we never properly specified who was eligible for beta prizing, and therefore will be awarding prizes to all users who placed, regardless of pro eligibility or not (I believe this only applied to 1 specific user). We’ll be amending our rules to be more clear on Pro eligibility going forward.

Note the blog formatting has made the lists appear strange around tied players, but the dollar values should reflect ties accurately.
We want to congratulate all of our winners on their performance in week 1 and look forward to having all of you participating again for week 2 which is currently under way. All Immortal players are currently eligible to participate on the Reach platform, so head over to Reach.gg to play.
For all of our winners, please ensure your emails are set properly in your “Account and Billing” page of your profile, and we will be emailing you in the next day or two to follow up with next steps regarding receiving your prizes from ESL. Note, we require that all users cashing out their prizes have earned a minimum of $50. We’ll be keeping track of winners, and will be surfacing your prize totals to your profiles in the next couple weeks, so you can see a running total of your prizes if you are not eligible to cash out on this first week.
Thanks again for a great week, and we look forward to posting more of these as the beta rolls along.
