Dark fantasy city-building game Against the Storm enters Early Access tomorrow

Against the Storm is a roguelite city builder set in a fantasy world ravaged by endless rain. You are the Viceroy of the Scorched Queen, a pioneer of the wilderness tasked with leading new settlements of humans, beavers, lizards, and harpies. Each city you build will be different from the previous one, and every time the queen will set exceptional tasks for you.

Against the Storm, from developer Eremite Games, is the latest release from indie strategy publisher Hooded Horse. Your campaign begins in the Smoldering City, a bastion of security from which you travel through a network of hexagons of various biomes in search of scarce resources. Each hexagon you decide to settle in functions as a kind of “level” and this is where the real game begins. It is at these levels that the building of the city takes place: you establish a settlement and build it as you collect resources in various environments.

Instead of managing the population directly, you build buildings for specific purposes, and then assign your inhabitants to work in each of them.
