After Batgirl’s trailer was revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, it was revealed that Gotham Knights is going to have a “big villain reveal” in the coming weeks. It’s straight from the mouth of Gotham Knights creative director Patrick Redding. While the Court of Owls is known to be one of the main antagonists of the game, and the Penguin and Mr. Freeze will appear in the video game, it looks like there are still a few surprises in the game.
More specifically, Redding mentioned this during an interview with Temple of Geek at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Although the full version of the interview appears to have been published and then deleted, excerpts have begun to surface online in which Redding speaks of “revealing big villain.”
“Some of the villains in our game, not all of which have been revealed and not all of which I can talk about, I’m particularly proud of,” Redding says in a short snippet of the interview, apparently answering a question about the game’s villains. “So I’d love to answer that question in a few weeks when we have a major villain revealed.”
The vast majority of information about the video game at the moment focuses on four playable characters – Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood and Tim Drake’s Robin. And while the Court of Owls could certainly be the main antagonist, there are plenty of opportunities for other notable Batman villains to appear in the video game as well.
Gotham Knights releases for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC on October 25th.
